What has happened? Between midnight on the 1st of January, and 1.30pm on the 6th of January 2026 unknown offenders gained entry to the rear garden of a property in Fairfax Road , Sutton Coldfield via a neighbouring gate, and rear fence. Once in the rear garden the offenders attempted to gain entry to the property by snapping the lock to the rear door. They were unsuccessful as the lock was anti snap , this prevented the offenders gaining access the property. The offenders then made good their escape via a neighbouring side fence, and rear access to Fairfax Road. What are we doing? Enquires into this incident are currently ongoing. What can you do? This incident highlights the value of fitting anti snap locks to the access doors of your property. It also highlights the importance of securing rear gates and fences to help prevent access to the rear of a property.
